Pet Fence

Keep Your Pet Contained

If your pet goes outside you need a way to keep them contained.  There are several pet fence solutions available for fencing both cats and dogs to make sure that they stay in your yard.  If standard fencing around your yard is not for you, or if it does not keep your pet contained, you have two options in electronic fencing, a wired in-ground fence or a wireless fence. Both of these options are available for both dogs and cats.  There are also fencing options to keep cats in an already fenced area.

Wired Pet Fence

A wired pet fence involves a wire that is buried in the ground around the perimeter of your yard, or the part of you yard that you want your pet to have access to.  The wire transmits a signal to a collar that your pet wears.  If your pet tries to cross the barrier it will receive a small shock to remind it of the boundary.  The shock will increase in intensity until the pet responds and gets away from the boundary.

Wireless Pet Fence

A wireless system works similarly to a wired system in that the pet needs to wear a collar.  However, the wireless boundary is controlled by a movable transmitter that allows the pet to have freedom in a certain radius.  The pet can move freely within the designated radius, but as they approach the edge they receive a warning.  If they persist towards the boundary they will receive stronger correction.  Wireless systems are a great option if you do not want the hassle of digging up and installing wires, and it has the benefit of being transportable.  This system can go with you.

Cat Fence

If you already have a fence around your yard but it does not keep your cat contained try a containment system that attaches to your fence and will not allow the cat to jump over.  This system consists of a wire netting that attaches to your fence at an angle.  The cat can see the netting, but the cat cannot get on top of it to jump over the fence.
